Phillip Jeffries is looking for a Design Librarian to join our Design Team!

The Design Librarian will be assist  with new designs for launch to growth the sales of this category and increase the production for PJ manufacturing. This position will report directly to the PD Project Manager.

What you will be doing:

Archive Maintenance:

  • Maintain archive sample library
  • Organize incoming development samples, mill developments, and yarn banks
  • Identify material composition and constructions for filing
  • Vault organization, maintenance, cut down and file process
  • Update tipcard vault library in inventory
  • Maintain vendor diversification drawer and sub drawer
  • Announce new developments to Design Director and CEO (Yammer)
  • Organization of launch samples, materials and tip cards
  • Oversee archive and launch loaner samples
  • Organize new development samples throughout launch cycle
  • Assist team with Product Development launch cycle
  • Assist with sales tool mock-ups
  • Prepare master samples for each new collection

Design Assistance:

  • Assist Product Development team as needed
  • Assist in creation of mood boards
  • Prepare studio and design area for product review
  • Assist with artwork handling for new development
  • Maintain digital design archives and print library
  • Assist in creation of product inspiration tools
  • Update layout of forms and documents as needed
  • Ship, track, receive, and distribute samples and artwork
  • Assist with design guests, vendor meetings, events, and team luncheons, as needed
  • Update design resources for Product Development Team
  • Assist Design Director with any miscellaneous tasks
  • Make appointments with design guests and assist with travel preparations

Studio Maintenance:

  • Manage office and artwork supply and reorders
  • General studio upkeep

Must Have:

  • Bachelor degree in Textiles, Fine Arts or related field
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience, librarian maintenance a plus
  • Knowledge of materials, weaving, and construction
  • Design savvy through social media, web, and other sources
  • Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Able take and understand direction
  • Listening Skills
  • Independent but able to work on a team
  • Self-managed
  • Ability to follow up on projects and tasks
  • Able to multitask and prioritize
  • Excellent time management
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • MS office: Word, Excel, power point
  • Database management skills
  • Experience with AVA preferred
